Merry Christmas…

December is when I usually look back at the happenings during the year here on Stout Standards, sharing links to the more popular  posts and generally sizing up the good with the bad. I’ve decided to not do that this time around. 2022 has been a difficult year and I’m just anxious for it to be over.

I want to thank you all for keeping me going and for keeping me writing. Have a Very Merry Christmas and don’t forget to have one for me!

Ho, Ho, Ho!!

Merry Christmas Dick and All The Very Best for 2023.

Just like you I found this year to be a pig of a year and to crown it all this week myself and the wife caught covid after dodging it for so long. We ain’t suffering too bad as we have had all of the vaccinations and booster jabs. But us octogenarians can’t be too careful. It wasn’t too far back when we would have popped our clogs.

    God Bless you all.

  4. Merry Christmas Dick!
May 2023 be better and brighter.

Merry Christmas to you, Dick…..and to all who post on this site. Nice to know that we can still say “Merry Christmas” without offending anyone in this PC world.

Hate to be all bah humbug, but I’m with you, Dick…I cannot wait until 2023 blows in. Last several years have been challenging for me indeed.

Let’s wish for better times ahead, and new beginnings for us both.

I still believe you have another metal detecting book in you. Perhaps your resolution can be finishing it by 2024. I’ll be the first on line to buy a copy my friend.

P.S. – Hide the booze when Santa comes. I heard he gave up milk and likes to get sloshed now due to all of the holiday stress.

    • Joe let’s hope the next 10 days are uneventful… As for the book, I started one maybe six or seven years ago and it’s maybe half done. I just lost interest and I really have to be enthused to do something like that. Maybe the bug will bite me again, we’ll see.

And I don’t have any booze to hide. Honest! Wine yes. Booze no. If I drank Scotch or bourbon now it would probably kill me. My system is not what it used to be unfortunately and after the triple bypass I’m very aware of what goes in this decrepit body.

Hope your Christmas is a good my friend.

Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year. I am like most just trying to stay safe but I still caught a nasty flu (not covid) last month. Going to plan a trip maybe early next year to do some detecting and visit a few friends. so making sure I have everything that I will need and checking that my vintage detectors are ready to go.
