REMEMBER K.I.S.S.?

K.I.S.S. or “keep it simple stupid” was a term coined by Kelly Johnson,  a naval engineer in the early sixties.  Supposedly Johnson handed his team of engineers a few basic tools and told them to design and build a plane that could be repaired using these very same tools, by an “average” mechanic in the field. In other words, if you keep it simple you will keep it flying.

Lucky to be Alive…

It’s been exactly six months to the day that we lost our home to a bastard of a tornado, but all things considered we are okay and moving on. We have a house to live in, food in the fridge and we have our health, tentative and creaky as it is.

One archaeological blogger who’s vehemently opposed to an eminently sensible piece of planned UK legislation, is predictably apoplectic judging from his panic-stricken banner headline plastered across his dire and ‘silly’ blog:-

Turning 75 (as in three quarters of a century)…

Those of you who visit my blog regularly know that my updates have slowed down.  The simple explanation is that I’ve slowed down.  I’d like to blame it on aging, but there a helluva lot of tekkies out there older than me and they are still putting in the hours, and bringing home the bacon. Me? I just hurt…some of it hereditary, some of it self-inflicted.
