A Big, Big Thank You!

Just want to take a minute or two to thank you all for your well wishes, prayers and concerns.  Fay and I, and the dogs, are hanging in there and doing all the things tornado victims do.  Salvaging whatever we can, filing insurance claims, cancelling services and trying to pretend the coming months will be easy.  I will share more when I can, but do know that I love you all and will never forget your caring about me and my family.  You are the best…..

Despite what we’ve been through, we are walking, talking, living and breathing and because of that we WILL have a Happy New Year!  Hope you all will too and please have one for me…..

 

Not a Good Night

Not sure when I will post again….Fay and I lost our home tonight thanks to a tornado.  We are okay, as are our dogs, and right now we are staying with daughter and family. Not sure what we will see tomorrow.

Yesterday I accidentally published an update that was not finished. No excuse other than it was Christmas, I was celebrating, I was drinking and I am one old SOB.  Today I put up the finished version….see yesterday’s date if you are interested.

2015…The Good & The Bad

Decided to look back over 2015, and see what has transpired here on Stout Standards.  As I expected there were highs, lows and in-betweens.  Good posts, okay posts, what the hell were you thinking posts, and here and there a few responses from enemies and ne’er-do-wells. Such is life. Ed Vaizey, the UK’s Minister of State for Culture, announced the discovery of the highly significant Viking Hoard near Watlington, Oxfordshire, the contents of which date from when the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of Mercia, and Wessex, were fighting for their survival against the Vikings; a fight which led to the unification of England. “The British Museum now runs the Portable Antiquities Scheme, which puts online lovely images of thousands s of people’s discoveries,” adding reassuringly, “The future of the past has never been healthier.”
