I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sworn to stop giving space here to Warsaw Wally and Heritage Harry. The thought of sending anyone, even enemies, to their blogs is just wrong, but I have to this time around. I clicked on Wally’s (a.k.a. Mr. Wonderful) blog last night and almost had a shitfit from laughing so hard. Check this out…
We know how much these two morons are anti-detecting, anti-collecting and anti-US, and we know too that they were banned from the British Museum site and listed a trolls (what an honor). Now they are pissing off the locals as in the Worlingworth History Group for holding a Metal Detecting Rally.
You see it doesn’t matter if the proceeds from this event are going to be shared with the History Group and the local Church Restoration Fund, they are worried that we vile tekkies will be hoiking precious artefacts and pocketing them, or at least that’s their line or should I say mantra.
Anyway both Harry (see here) and Wally decided to hound the hell out of the sponsoring group, warning them of our “wicked ways” and they received this well deserved response….

I laughed so hard my side was splitting. I ask you..Is there anyone left out there that they have not yet pissed off? Hard to say but I am willing to bet they will find someone. That, after all, is their greatest joy in life.

QUIET HERE ON THE HOMEFRONT
Not a lot to report this time around. The temps are slowly dropping (only in the low 90’s this week) and there’s a 20 percent chance of rain each day this week. Not a lot to hang your hat on, but October is just around the corner, and it is by far the nicest month here in Texas. Hopefully this thugwit will get in a few days of detecting. Nothing like hoiking things out of the ground in the fall!
Did get out this last weekend for about three hours. Hand full of coins and one 10k 2 dwt ring. Saw 5 other people with detectors on the beach at the little lake. Talked to a couple of fisherman and they said that on Sat. there 5 or 6 people on the lake with detectors. So, local lakes are getting hit hard. Finds are getting few and far between. A couple of years ago you could go to the lake and find 75 to 100 coins and 2 or 3 rings with no problem. Now it is 25 to 30 coins ( if you are lucky ) and maybe one ring. Too many people with detectors.
Much like all those buying abandoned storage lockers. TV is often a good thing but sometimes bad for those who participate in a relatively unknown pastime or business. Just something we have to deal with…. Research, research and research some more.
Did you notice how Barford, like the spoilt child who can’t get its way with the grown-ups, says he hopes “it buckets down” on the day of the fundraising event for no better reason than the event’s organisers told him to go away in a series of short, sharp, jerky movements taking his opinions with him!
Put another way, he wants them to fail to raise any cash to help this worthy heritage cause, because they will be consorting with the Devil Incarnate; metal detectorists! Mind you, Barford’s keeping his dosh firmly in his pocket! Apparently, some heritage appeals are more worthy than others in the Barford/Swift/Heritage Action view of things.
Further down his turgid and near impenetrable blog, he complains that people are calling him names! Two of the more popular ones cannot be printed here. Boo, Hoo, Hoo, pass me an onion!
As I said before Mr. Wonderful. Anyone that would wish an event like this to fail is one sub-par human being, but then that it already a known factor with Mr. Barford.
What’s all this ‘Mr’ when referring to him? He deserves not a modicum of respect either as a man, or what passes for an ‘academic’.
Forgive me. I made a mistake Bubba…. His most recent post bears out his lack of class and any claim to being an acceptable part of the human race.
I love how he has the False “Barford” Blogs, Not Actually by Paul Barford linked to his site. What a masochist.
Joe, they are not his blogs but sites started by many of this fans (NOT). His blogs can be found here…

Hey Scott, thanks for the comment. I have always been big on research but need to get back at it. I have recently gotten fat and lazy. Easy to do the older you get.

You are a true legend in the hobby and the well done blog shows your willingness to carry the flag for all of us as we strive to improve our pastime.
